BACKGROUND:

Clark County Social Service (CCSS), requests that the Board of County Commissioners approve the acceptance of the Notice of Subaward to support the salary, travel and other expenses for Regional Behavioral Health Coordination for Clark County from the Bureau of Health Wellness and Prevention Division of Public and Behavioral Health (DPBH).

The mission of the State of Nevada Division of Public and Behavioral Health is to protect, promote, and improve the physical and behavioral health of the people of Nevada.  They have awarded non-competitive funds to each jurisdiction in Nevada, including Clark County, to support the salary, travel, and other expenses for regional behavioral health coordination since 2017. CCSS hired a Behavioral Health Coordinator in 2017, in response to the original reward and to address the objectives and goals of the program.  To fully engage a community as dense as Clark County, maintain relationships with providers, and provide regional oversight, DPBH has awarded funding for one (1) position for Fiscal Year 2021.

DPBH has awarded an initial amount of $56,109.90 for period July 1 2020 through September 30, 2020 which was funded through Nevada State General Funds.  DPBH has awarded an additional funding amount of $129,316.00 for period October 1, 2020 through September 30, 2021 which is being supplemented by federal funds. This program has a start date of July 1, 2020 and ends September 30, 2021.
