COVID-19 Temporary Labor Staffing Services |
Additional Comments: |
Amendment 1 - extend for five (5) months through 6/30/2021 |
BACKGROUND:
Since October 2013, UMC has had an agreement with FocusOne Solutions (FocusOne) to provide temporary staffing of clinical professionals in critical need areas of the hospital. At times, this service may be used to solicit and fill a full-time UMC employee position.
On January 29, 2020, the Governing Board approved a new Agreement with FocusOne to continue to provide the same services with the NTE cost of $3,600,000 per year. The Agreement term is from February 1, 2020 through January 31, 2021 with the option to extend for one (1) year unless terminated with a 60-day written notice.
This Amendment One requests to extend the Agreement for five (5) months ending June 30, 2021 and add an estimated $20 million funding increase to anticipate the demand and upsurge in cost for nursing travelers during the COVID-19 pandemic.
UMC’s Cardiology Services/Patient Placement Director has reviewed and recommends ratification of this Amendment. This Amendment has been approved as to form by UMC’s Office of General Counsel.
FocusOne currently holds a Clark County business license.
This Amendment was reviewed by the Governing Board at their January 27, 2021 meeting and recommended for ratification by the Board of Hospital Trustees.
