BACKGROUND:

The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) has approved the Fort Apache Road between Huntington Cove Parkway and Warm Springs Road project on its annual Capital Improvement Program from Fuel Revenue Indexing Extension Funds.

Funding to design this project was previously approved, which is 90 percent complete, but all necessary right-of-way has not been obtained.  The attached Interlocal Contract No. 1250 will provide funds for construction of the project where right-of-way has been obtained; specifically Huntington Cove Parkway to Warm Springs Road.  The County will request additional construction funds for the remaining project portion once all outstanding right-of-way has been obtained.  The time of performance for this interlocal contract terminates on June 30, 2026.

This project is identified on RTC's Capital Improvement Program for Fiscal Year 2020-2021.  RTC approved the interlocal contract at its meeting on January 14, 2021.

The District Attorney's Office has reviewed and approved the interlocal contract as to form.
