BACKGROUND:
The Fiscal Year 2021-2022 HUD Annual Action Plan describes the funding allocations for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), the HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME), the Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG), and the Nevada Low-Income Housing Trust Fund (LIHTF). Total Federal funding represented in the plan is $12,861,129. The total funding in the plan including funding from the State of Nevada (State HOME and LIHTF) is $15,808,455. Prior to its submittal to HUD by the end of May, 2021, the Action Plan has been revised to accept public comments that were received at public meetings and hearings, and technical corrections were made for accuracy. One public comment was received regarding homelessness addressing the need for resources for the mentally ill and additional affordable housing.
The Board of County Commissioners previously held a public hearing concerning the Action Plan on April 20, 2021, in order to receive input from the public on the content and strategies outlined for the one-year period. The plan was widely available for public comment from April 7th through May 7th, 2021, per HUD guidelines.
