BACKGROUND:

On December 28, 2018, in accordance with the NRS 332 Resolution approved by the Board of County Commissioners (Board), the Department of Administrative Services, Purchasing and Contracts Division (Purchasing) approved the award of CBE No. 605032-18 to Axon Enterprise, Inc. (LBE) in the amount of $171,411.35. A funding increase of $328,588.65 was approved by Purchasing on August 5, 2019.

A Fiscal Directive No. 6, Competitive Bidding Exception was approved because we are utilizing a joinder to LVMPD's Master Service and Purchase Agreement Contract for Body Worn Cameras and Tasers subject to the requirements of NRS 289.830. This will allow for consistency with body cameras and tasers throughout the valley.

The following are the pertinent provisions of the approval:
The term of the approval was from December 28, 2018 through August 28, 2022 and included the option                      to renew for 1, five-year period. There is 1 renewal option remaining.
Clark County is not under exclusive contract with Axon Enterprise, Inc., and therefore, can cease                      purchasing product/services at any time.

A revised Fiscal Directive No. 6, Competitive Bidding Exception, was approved to increase funding and allow for body cameras and tasers, worn by law enforcement officers, to be extended to more areas of CCDC.

The Business License Department has determined that a Clark County Business License is not required for this effort.
