BACKGROUND:
On May 4, 2021, the Board of County Commissioners authorized the submission of the FFY21 Emergency Management Performance Grant (EMPG) application. The department has recently received a notification from the State of Nevada Division of Emergency Management (NDEM) that additional funding is available through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). An amendment to the FFY21 EMPG application with the total amount of the grant of $1,476,792.00, including the 50% in-kind match, was submitted to the State on May 3, 2021.
Acceptance of these additional funds will provide necessary support for the core functions of the Office of Emergency Management.
Staff recommends the Board ratify the submission of the attached grant application.
