BACKGROUND:

On December 17, 2020, the Clark County Department of Aviation (DOA) issued Request for Qualifications No. 20-028 (RFQ), for the purpose of selecting a firm to perform professional design services for Project at McCarran International Airport (Airport). In response to this RFQ, seven firms provided qualifications submittals, and DOA evaluated these submittals in accordance with guidance provided by the FAA. As a result of this evaluation, DOA recommends HNTB Corporation (Company) for the Project.

The Project will provide safety and operational improvements to the airfield at Airport and includes geometric modifications to the pavements, additional in-pavement guard lights, and other airfield modifications. The Project also encompasses rehabilitation of runway pavements to extend the service life of the 1/19 runways and corresponding taxiways.

In accordance with NRS 332.115.1(b), the services to be performed are professional in nature and therefore exempt from competitive bidding requirements.

FAA grant funds are anticipated to cover the professional design services and construction costs for the Project.

This contract has been reviewed and approved as to form by the District Attorney's Office. Company currently holds a Clark County Business License.
