BACKGROUND:
On January 7, 2019, the Board of County Commissioners approved a pre-qualification list to be used to select professional services for the period of January 7, 2019 through December 31, 2020. On December 1, 2020, the Board approved a one-year extension of this list through December 31, 2021. GCW, Inc. (Corporation) was selected from the pre-qualification list, [Works] Flood Control - Major, to provide engineering services for design of drainage improvements for the Blue Diamond Wash Railroad Channel project, designated as BDW5 0026 and BDW2 0000 in the Clark County Regional Flood Control District 2018 Master Plan Update.
County staff negotiated the attached professional engineering services contract with GCW, Inc. for this project. The contract describes the services to be provided and stipulated terms. The time of performance is effective to December 31, 2024, unless time extensions are granted. GCW, Inc. currently holds a Clark County Business License.
Pursuant to the Nevada Revised Statute 332.115(1)(b), contracts for professional services are not adapted to award by competitive bidding and, therefore, are exempt from the bidding requirements.
The District Attorney’s Office has reviewed and approved the contract as to form.
