Sixth Amendment - Academic Year 2021-2022 Out Clause: Terminates early upon execution of an Academic Health Center Master Affiliation Agreement

BACKGROUND:

In June, 2016, the UNLV School of Medicine (“UNLVSOM”) and UMC entered into a Preliminary Affiliation Agreement (“Agreement”) under which both parties would work together to set the framework for the creation of a premier academic health center that integrates the expertise of the UNLVSOM with the resources of UMC to enhance teaching, promote health care innovation, and improve access to health care for Southern Nevadans.

This request is for approval of the Sixth Amendment to the Agreement with the Board of Regents of the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) on behalf of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and UNLVSOM to set a new amount for Resident Salaries and Academic Mission Support for the 2021-2022 Academic Year.  The total not to exceed is $18,890,371.00 per year; a decrease of $22,707.00 from the prior academic year.

The Sixth Amendment was approved as to form by UMC’s Office of General Counsel, reviewed by the UMC Governing Board at their May 26, 2021 meeting and recommended for approval by the Board of Hospital Trustees.
