BACKGROUND:

The Moapa Valley Fire Protection District (District) was created pursuant to NRS 474.460 and Clark County
Code Chapter 3.20. The District was created for the protection of property, public health, safety, and welfare of
the inhabitants of Clark County. Specifically, the District provides for the prevention and extinguishment of fires
and the provision of emergency medical services in the unincorporated areas within Clark County generally
located, described, and comprising the following: from the northerly Warm Springs area, Moapa, Moapa Valley,
Logandale, Overton, the Valley of Fire, and southerly, including the Echo Bay area

Since separating from the Clark County Fire Department, the Moapa Valley Fire Protection District (MVFPD) has taken on several rolls that has caused the MVFPD to outgrow the current space at the main fire station at Station 73.   The MVFD has been offered a donation of a 24X60 Rosewood Enterprises Office Trailer (Serial#FH8323) to be used as office and dorm rooms by Valley Commercial Properties LLC of Mesquite, NV.

Accepting this donation will allow for the fire district to store critical lifesaving equipment in a temperature controlled environment along with other equipment and training props which are currently being store inside of an outdoor tough shed.  With the current storage of equipment will decrease the life span of the equipment and/or decrease the effectiveness of essential lifesaving Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).

The office trailer will also be the new home of our Fire Chief's and district secretary's office along with a conference room/Emergency Operation Center (EOC) which is vital to conduct district business and to manage multi operational period incidents.  Additionally, this trailer will house two dorm rooms for our volunteers that live in Las Vegas to sleep at night in an effort to cover our night calls and decrease our response times.
