Description:

Purchase of Perishable Food Items for Department of Juvenile Justice Services (DJJS) Purchase of Perishable Food Items for Department of Family Service (DFS)

Additional Comments:

The total approval award is estimated in the amount of $2,929,000 should all renewal options be exercised, with increased user requirements included.

 

BACKGROUND: 

This Competitive Bidding Exception is for the purchase of various perishable food items with US Foods, Inc. (NBE).

A Fiscal Directive No. 6, Competitive Bidding Exception, was approved to provide continuation of supply of perishable food items for the youth and staff housed at Juvenile Detention and Spring Mountain Youth Camp (SMYC), and for the children who are residing at Child Haven Campus.

The following are the pertinent provisions of this approval:
                     The term of the approval is from July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022 and includes the option to renew for                      4, one-year periods.
                     Includes the option to increase the award amount up to 20% based on possible increased user                      requirements for the renewal terms and approved budget appropriations.
                     Clark County is not under exclusive contract with US Foods, Inc. and therefore, can cease purchasing                      products at any time.

The recommendation of award is in accordance with NRS 332.115.1(e), the competitive bidding process is not required as the product to be purchased is perishable.

US Foods, Inc. currently holds a Clark County Business License.
