$75/day per inmate. Services only to be utilized for inmates deemed to be a Detention Services Division (DSD) housing conflict of interest.
BACKGROUND:
When the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) takes an inmate into custody that is arrested on a charge associated with significant violence or death of an LVMPD employee or immediate family member, it is protocol to transfer the inmate to another regional facility until the inmate is no longer in LVMPD’s authority due to conflict of interest issues. In accordance with NRS 277.180, the parties are authorized to enter into interlocal contracts to perform governmental functions and activities. If the governmental services performed by another public agency exceed $25,000, an interlocal contract must be ratified by the agencies’ governing bodies.This contract will allow Lincoln County to accept custody of DSD pre-trial detainees and sentenced misdemeanants and to provide for the inmates’ secure custody, care, and safekeeping.The term of the contract is from July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022.This contract was approved by the Lincoln County Board of County Commissioners on May 3, 2021.
