BACKGROUND:
NRS 379.020 provides that the Clark County Board of County Commissioners (County Commission) appoint five (5) competent persons who are residents of the county to serve as district library trustees.
There are two (2) vacancies on the Boulder City Library District Board of Trustees (Board of Trustees). Erica Tietjen served as a member of the Board of Trustees from May 2017 until June 1, 2021. She declined reappointment. Additionally, Michele Franzese Rustigan resigned from the Board of Trustees in October 2020. Her seat has remained vacant since that time, and the term expires on September 3, 2023.
The Board of Trustees have recommended James Knowles for the seat vacated by Michele Franzese. He will serve until September 3, 2023. Additionally, the Board of Trustees approved Andrea Dempsey to fill the seat vacated by Erica Tietjen. She will serve until June 15, 2025.
The County Commission is asked to appoint James Knowles for the remainder of a term ending September 3, 2023, and Andrea Dempsey for a four-year (4-year) term ending June 15, 2025.
