BACKGROUND:
On September 6, 2019, the Board of County Commissioners (Board) approved the award of Bid 605298-19 for Regional Justice Center Elevator Modernization to Schindler Elevator Corporation (NBE) in the amount of $5,882,446.00 for the modernization of the existing elevators in the Regional Justice Center.
The following are the pertinent provisions of the Contract: • The Contractor shall complete the entire work within 600 calendar days from the date specified after the receipt of the Notice to Proceed. • Included the standard termination for cause within 7 business days and termination for convenience language as in all public works efforts of this type.
Changer Order No. 1 provided for the replacement of surface mounted lobby pushbutton station with a smaller surface mounted panel, permit and inspection reimbursement fees and a time extension of 15 additional days.
Change Order No. 2 provided for the addition of Vertical Transportation Modernization (escalators) scope and project costs that allowed for consistency for maintenance, state approvals, management of the project and for a time extension of an additional 158 days to the contract.
Approval of Change Order No. 3 will provide for the installation of elevator materials, electrical and general work, placement of temporary barricades, floor protection to extend the useful life of the existing escalator system and add 280 calendar days to the contract. The attached Change Order No. 3 document details the modifications and costs involved.
Schindler Elevator Corporation currently holds a Clark County Business License.
