This position will be offset by the reduced expense in the court reporter budget.
BACKGROUND:
Pursuant to NRS 3.320 (1), District Court judge or judges may appoint one certified court reporter to be known as official reporter of the court or department. In addition, Section 3.4 of the Letter of Understanding between Clark County and the Eighth Judicial District Court allows for the appointment of Court Recorders. District Court is requesting to create one (1) new permanent court recorder/transcriber position to support the operations of the Eighth Judicial District Court. This position would be assigned to Department 16 and is responsible for maintaining the official record of the Court.
