BACKGROUND:
This Contract is for professional services for CCDC South Tower Fire Sprinkler and Plumbing Replacement and Facility Renovation with JMA Nevada Architecture, P.C. dba JMA Architects, LLC (NBE) for project administration, design, permit assistance, bid assistance, and construction contract administration for approximately 365,000 square feet and 7 stories of removal and replacement of the plumbing and fire sprinkler system at the South Tower of the Clark County Detention Center.
A Fiscal Directive No. 6, Competitive Bidding Exception, was approved because JMA Nevada Architecture, P.C. dba JMA Architects, LLC was already performing scope at CCDC under PO 4800010046-026. Due to the expansion of the original scope which included the identification of additional renovations needed within the facility, chiller replacement, VAC replacement/repairs, elevator modernization, shower room remodels and electronic system upgrades to meet future operational needs and regulatory requirements, a formal contract was negotiated.
The following are the pertinent provisions of the Contract:
• The term of the Contract is from October 19, 2020 through June 30, 2026.
• Includes the County’s option to terminate for cause, convenience or default and suspend the Contract with advanced written notice.
The recommendation of award is in accordance with NRS 332.115.1(b), the competitive bidding process is not required as the services to be performed are professional in nature.
JMA Nevada Architecture, P.C. dba JMA Architects, LLC currently holds a Clark County Business License.
