BACKGROUND:
On February 21, 2017, the Board of County Commissioners (Board) approved the award of CBE No. 604352-17 to PCNA Consulting Group, Inc. (SBE) in the amount of $311,000 to provide engineering services for Clark County Detention Center, South Tower: Fire Alarm System Replacement.
The following are the pertinent provisions of the Contract:
• Completion of all services shall be prior to March 1, 2019, unless such date is amended by Owner.
• Included the County’s option to terminate for cause, convenience or default and suspend the Contract with advanced written notice.
Amendment No. 1 provided for additional professional engineering services to identify and coordinate replacement of existing pneumatic valve actuators, pneumatic damper actuators, design of electrical power disconnect switches for damps located within the Clark County Detention Center South Tower and extended the Contract term through August 1, 2019.
Approval of Amendment No. 2 will provide for additional work to cover items that were not included as part of the original scope of work but have been determined necessary to fully separate the fire alarm system from all other building systems for activation, monitoring and maintenance purposes. Contract term will be extended through December 31, 2021. The attached Amendment No. 2 document details the modifications and costs involved.
