BACKGROUND:

Title 30 of the Clark County Code provides for Neighborhood Casinos, which are considered resort hotels. On June 15, 2021, the Board discussed amending the Clark County Code to reduce the required number of rooms available for sleeping accommodations in resort hotels from 300 rooms to 200 rooms. This amendment aligns other sections of the Code to be consistent with the definition of a Neighborhood Casino under Title 30.

Staff recommends that the ordinance to amend Chapters 4.08 and 8.04 of the County Code be introduced and a public hearing be set for July 20, 2021.
