Desert Tortoise Nesting Study on the Boulder City Conservation Easement (BCCE)

Additional Comments:

The initial Agreement amount was $92,729.74.  Amendment No. 1 has no fiscal impact.

 

BACKGROUND: 

On March 3, 2020, the Board of County Commissioners (Board) approved the award of CBE No. 605571-20 to the Board of Regents, Nevada System of Higher Education, on behalf of the University of Nevada, Reno in the amount of $92,729.74 for nesting study to determine basic reproduction statistics for tortoises on the BCCE as well as collect genetic samples from newborn tortoises in order to use them in a paternity study in the future.

The following are the pertinent provisions of the Agreement:
                     The term of the Agreement was from March 3, 2020 through January 31, 2021.
                     Included the County’s option to terminate for cause, convenience or default and suspend the Agreement                      with advanced written notice.

Approval of Amendment No. 1 will provide for an extension of the Agreement term through January 31, 2022 and replace Appendix - 1 Milestone/Deliverable/Invoicing Table. The attached Amendment No. 1 document details the modifications involved.
