BACKGROUND:

The Children's Justice Act (CJA) provides grants to States to improve the investigation, prosecution, and judicial handling of cases of child abuse and neglect.

On April 9, 2021, the Clark County Department of Family Services submitted a grant application to fund a five-day on-site training on Forensic Interviewing of Children.  This training is provided to law enforcement and child protection services case workers to gain knowledge of the latest research-based information on interviewing techniques and the opportunity to develop and refine their interviewing skills.

Staff requests the Board ratify the submission of the attached grant application and accept funds awarded.
