BACKGROUND:
On January 19, 2021, the Board of County Commissioners (Board) approved the award of Bid 605721-20 for Rainbow Boulevard - Landberg Avenue to Gary Avenue to Las Vegas Paving Corporation (NBE) in the amount of $2,813,000 for full depth reconstruction and widening of Rainbow Boulevard from Landberg Avenue to Gary Avenue. Furthermore, this contract consists of pavement, type II aggregate, UTACS, milling, full depth median island, sidewalk, curb & gutter, adjustment of manholes and valves, utility relocations, removing and replacing pavement markings, street lights, ITS conduit, reinforced concrete pipe (RCP), reinforced concrete box (RCB), riprap, headwalls, drop inlets, traffic signs, barrier rail, railroad crossing, and other related items of work within the unincorporated area of Clark County, Nevada.
The following are the pertinent provisions of the Contract:
• The Contractor shall complete the entire work within 120 calendar days from the date specified after the receipt of the Notice to Proceed.
• Included the standard termination for cause within 7 business days and termination for convenience language as in all public works efforts of this type.
Approval of Change Order No. 1 will provide for the installation of Clark County Water Reclamation District (CCWRD) facilities within the project limits on Rainbow Boulevard between Landberg Avenue and Gary Avenue. The work includes boring of mainline facilities and the installation of manholes between Landberg Avenue and Gary Avenue. Installation of these facilities during the current project will reduce the overall impact to the traveling public. It will also reduce the overall cost of the facility installation versus completing these improvements at a future date, which would require a significant amount of additional work. This change order will also add 16 calendar days to the Contract term. The attached Change Order No. 1 document details the modifications and costs involved.
Las Vegas Paving Corporation currently holds a Clark County Business License.
