BACKGROUND:
Clark County's Department of Family Services (DFS) operates the Southern Nevada Children's Advocacy Center (SNCAC) within Building 701K and 701D on the Child Haven Campus located at 701 North Pecos Road, Las Vegas, NV 89101. The Children's Advocacy Center Foundation (CACF) is a non-profit organization which has signed a service agreement with DFS to support the SNCAC conducting community outreach, advocacy and fundraise in support of child abuse and neglect victims and their families, and to operate, fund, manage and/or support Community Closet and Food Pantry, #VegasShines Summer Survivor Camp, #VegasShines Back-to-School Backpack and School Supply Drive, #VegasHeals, and such other programs that may be developed.
This Lease Agreement (Lease) is to provide CACF with space to operate and fulfill their service agreement obligations with DFS in support of the SNCAC. The Lease term is for five (5) years with five (5)-one (1) year options. As a condition of the Lease, CACF is required to provide annual reports detailing the services provided to the community.
NRS 244.284 allows Clark County (County) to lease any real property not needed for public purposes to a corporation for public benefit if the property is used for charitable or civic purposes on such terms as deemed appropriate by the Board of County Commissioners.
