BACKGROUND:
The State Opioid Response grant funding is United States Department of Health and Human Services, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, Opioid State Targeted Response funding passed through the Board of Regents, University of Nevada, Reno. If awarded, the federal funding would be passed through as a sub-grant to the Las Vegas Justice Court for the Misdemeanor Treatment Court program (MTC). The grant period would be from September 30, 2021 through September 29, 2022.
The MTC program has requested $379,046 in United States Department of Health and Human Services State Opioid Response funding. The funding would assist approximately sixteen indigent, uninsured and under-insured participants struggling with cessation by providing detoxification services, enhanced levels of treatment (inpatient, partial hospitalization), outpatient, safe and sober housing, electronic monitoring, random drug testing and wrap around services as necessary. In addition, the grant funding would allow the court team to attend the annual National Association of Drug Court Professionals conference. Attached hereto is the grant application.
