BACKGROUND:

The Clark County Department of Aviation (DOA) recommends approval of forty-six (46) Permanent Intermittent positions to be added to its existing Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) position count. These 46 Permanent Intermittent positions will provide additional opportunities for prospective candidates in the DOA's operational areas. These positions include employee benefits as outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement between Clark County and the Service Employees International Union Local #1107.

The positions will give the DOA the flexibility necessary to meet the current operational demands of the airport system in a strategic and effective manner. Staffing flexibility is essential as the DOA manages the evolving customer demands of the Las Vegas destination for convention/business travel, international travel, stadium special events, and fluctuations in leisure travel.

The estimated cost for these positions is approximately $3,068,781.05.

Staff recommends approval and authorization of 46 Permanent Intermittent positions to be added to its current FTE count.
