BACKGROUND:

On October 6, 2020, the Board of County Commissioners approved and authorized the acquisition by negotiation of Assessor's Parcel Number 177-18-201-001 (Howard J. and Christine S. Needham), needed for improvements on Decatur Boulevard between Cactus Avenue and Warm Springs Road.  An offer to acquire the subject property was presented in the amount of $109,400 based upon an appraisal obtained by the County.  The property owners rejected the offer and submitted a counter offer in the amount of $165,312.  Upon extensive negotiations between Clark County Public Works staff and the property owners, a proposed settlement has been reached in the amount of $126,000.

Authorization to approve and authorize the proposed settlement is now being sought from the Board.
