BACKGROUND:

The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) has approved and budgeted funding for the Rainbow Boulevard between Arby Avenue and Badura Avenue project in RTC's Highway Improvement Acquisition Fund for Fiscal Year 2022.

The attached Interlocal Contract No. 1306 will provide funds for construction.  Funding will cover advertisement of this widening and pavement overlay project.  Specifically, this project widen the west side of Rainbow Boulevard between Arby Avenue and Badura Avenue with pavement milling and an ultra-thin asphalt concrete surface overlay from Capovilla Avenue to the Clark County 215 Beltway (CC215) eastbound ramps.  Rainbow Boulevard will be restriped between Warm Springs Road and CC215 eastbound to achieve three travel lanes in both directions.  Additional project elements include curb, sidewalk, median modifications, and utility adjustments.  The project was designed in-house with Clark County funds.  The time of performance is effective to December 31, 2026, unless time extensions are granted.

This project is included on the adopted RTC Capital Improvement Plan.  RTC approved the interlocal contract at its meeting on September 9, 2021.

The District Attorney's Office has reviewed and approved the interlocal contract as to form.
