Agenda note: Commissioner McCurdy recognized and presented a proclamation to Wes Hall, Chief Executive Officer of the National Young Men of Color Leadership Initiative Foundation, and Jack Martin, Director of the Clark County Department of Juvenile Justice Services; advised that My Brother’s Keeper Alliance would host the first annual conference at UNLV on October 9, 2021; the conference helped connect young men to employment skills, education, community engagement, leadership, financial strength, and greater opportunities. Mr. Martin advised that children under the age of 18 and those just over the age of 18 would be welcome to attend. Mr. Hall advised that the conference was to be viewed as a catalyst to assist young men to become academically proficient; October 9, 2021 was named Young Men of Color Day in Las Vegas; and acknowledged Sheena Judy Mitchell of the City of Las Vegas for her support and assistance.
