BACKGROUND:

Clark County Social Service (CCSS) requests that the Board of County Commissioners ratify an Amendment to the resolution for funds to HopeLink of Southern Nevada for Rapid Rehousing for Families with Children program. A resolution was approved by the Board of County Commissioners on June 18, 2019 to provide funds that assist with the cost of providing rapid rehousing services to families with children experiencing homelessness.  County marijuana business license fee funds will provide rental assistance, case management, financial assistance and supportive services. This is the 2nd renewal for this resolution and addresses Goals 1 & 2 in Clark County’s Strategic Response to Support Southern Nevada’s Plan to End Homelessness. Through this resolution, HopeLink will continue to deliver service to 60 families, including beds set aside for families referred through the Department of Family Services.

In the first two years of the program, HopeLink was able to rapidly rehouse and provide services for 90 families.

The District Attorney's Office has reviewed and approved the resolutions as to form and HopeLink of Southern Nevada has accepted the terms and conditions contained in the resolutions.
