The initial Contract amount was $2,725,000, Amendment No. 1 had no fiscal impact, Amendment No. 2 increased the Contract amount by $545,000. Amendment No. 3 will increase the Contract amount by $545,000, for a new total Contract amount of $3,815,000 should all renewal options be exercised. |
BACKGROUND:
On February 16, 2016, the Board of County Commissioners (Board) approved the award of RFP No. 603699-15 to Harris & Harris, Ltd. (LBE) in the amount of $2,725,000 for collection services.
The following are the pertinent provisions of the Contract:
• The term of the Contract was from February 16, 2016 through December 31, 2016 and included the option to renew for 4, one-year periods. There are no renewal options remaining.
• Included the County’s option to terminate for cause, convenience or default and suspend the Contract with advanced written notice.
Amendment No. 1 allowed for the assessment of processing fees to go directly to the debtor.
Amendment No. 2 extended the Contract through December 31, 2021 and decreased the collection fee percentage.
Approval of Amendment No. 3 will extend the Contract through December 31, 2022. The attached Amendment No. 3 document details the modifications and costs involved.
Harris & Harris, Ltd. currently holds a Clark County Vendor Registration.
