BACKGROUND:

On July 16, 2020, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) issued a call for project applications for funding in the Round 18 Southern Nevada Public Lands Management Act (SNPLMA) appropriations funding cycle.  The deadline for the Round 18 project applications was September 14, 2020.

On September 1, 2020, the Board of County Commissioners authorized the submittal of eight applications to the Bureau of Land Management for Round 18 project funding cycle.  However, at the time the Board approved the projects for submittal, Real Property Management was still in the process of preparing cost estimates. The following three project applications were subsequently approved by the U.S. Department of Interior's Decision Memo on October 7, 2021:

Logandale Sports Complex - $13,450,305
Indian Springs Park Improvements - $5,531,316
Southwest Ridge Bicycle Sports Park - $6,554,836

This agenda item is intended to meet the provisions of Fiscal Directive #2 which requires complete grant applications to be approved by the Board prior to submittal to the BLM.
