BACKGROUND:

On February 18, 2020, the Board of County Commissioners approved an Interlocal Agreement (Agreement) with the City of North Las Vegas (CNLV) to allocate $1,900,000 to CNLV for the construction of a miniature train at the Craig Ranch Regional Park.  The Agreement is due to expire on December 31, 2021.

On August 23, 2021, Clark County received a request from CNLV for an extension of six (6) months to extend the Agreement until June 30, 2022.

The purpose for this request is to allow completion of a newly manufactured locomotive and passenger cars that were awarded to Mammoth Locomotive (ML) in August 2020 as delivery has been delayed due to supply chain issues experienced by ML obtaining necessary parts.  CNLV will have the miniature train functioning by June 30, 2022.

This item was presented to the County's Long Range Planning Committee on November 15, 2021.
