BACKGROUND:

The National Football League and Verizon have developed a community matching grant program to fund a community "greening" project, including tree-planting, community gardens, habitat restoration or reforestation initiatives throughout the Las Vegas area.  Clark County is proposing 600 native trees and 600 native plants be funded for the Wetlands Nature Preserve.

The County Parks and Recreation, Real Property Management, and Environment and Sustainability Departments have worked to develop a draft submittal.  County Parks and Recreation has funding available to match grant requirement.

Staff recommends approval of the submittal.
