BACKGROUND:
On September 5, 2017, the Board of County Commissioners (Board) approved the award of CBE No. 604517-17 to Sparkflight Studios, LLC dba Sparkflight Studios in the amount of $352,870 for Professional Architectural Services for Government Center and Central Plant: Roof Rehabilitation.
The following are the pertinent provisions of the Contract:
• The term of the Contract shall be 180 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed. Completion of all services shall be prior to July 30, 2019.
• Included the County’s option to terminate for cause, convenience or default and suspend the Contract with advanced written notice.
Amendment No. 1 provided for additional architectural design services for the Pyramid and Rotunda modeling take offs, leak investigation, report for sealant quantities, Central Plant joints, stone colonnades at the Amphitheatre, landscaping, low retaining walls, and a time extension of an additional 75 calendar days.
Amendment No. 2 provided for additional design services to achieve a functional, OSHA compliant rooftop anchor system, and a time extension of an additional 257 calendar days.
Approval of Amendment No. 3 will provide for additional project meetings extending the Contract Administration (CA) period, submittal of package reviews, site visits and a time extension to complete all services prior to December 31, 2021. The attached Amendment No. 3 document details the modifications and costs involved.
