BACKGROUND:

On January 7, 2022, the Board of County Commissioners approved a pre-qualification list to be used to select professional service providers for the period January 7, 2022 through December 31, 2023.  Based on GCW, Inc.'s (Corporation) ranking in 10 of the design categories of Services and Works, GCW, Inc. was selected to provide professional engineering services for the Clark County Public Works Project Management project.

County staff negotiated the attached professional engineering services contract with GCW, Inc.  The contract describes the services to be provided and stipulated terms.  The time of performance is effective to December 31, 2026, unless time extensions are granted.  This contract provides for individual public works capital improvement projects designed by separate engineering consultant firms to be managed and overseen by GCW, Inc.

GCW, Inc. currently holds a Clark County Business License.

Pursuant to the Nevada Revised Statute 332.115(1)(b), contracts for professional services are not adapted to award by competitive bidding and, therefore, are exempt from the bidding requirements.

The District Attorney’s Office has reviewed and approved the contract as to form.
