BACKGROUND: 

The Clark County LEPC is eligible for funding through this grant by maintaining compliance with the State Emergency Response Commission (SERC) policies. This grant will provide funding for proposed projects approved by the Department of Transportation for Hazardous Materials Emergency Preparedness for Hazmat planning and training of first responders to better prepare and mitigate hazardous material incidents.

The State of Nevada Emergency Response Commission made the Local Emergency Planning Commission aware of this application on April 4, 2022, with the submittal date of April 6, 2022. The Local Emergency Planning Commission (LEPC) will meet in May 2022 to approve proposed projects and allocate funding for the (3) three-year time period.

Staff recommends the Board ratify the submission of the attached grant application.
