BACKGROUND:

The DOA Surplus Land Sale Policy (Policy) was approved by the Board on March 18, 2014. Staff developed the Policy to outline the responsibilities, processes and procedures to be followed by Clark County (County) during the sale of Department of Aviation (DOA) surplus land to private parties at public auction. After conducting several auctions, staff altered the process to shorten the timeline for taking property to auction and to accommodate the amendments to NRS statute that allow online auctions. Staff wishes to update the Policy to document the aforementioned changes and make minor revisions as needed, including but not limited to the following:

1.  Change the name of McCarran International Aiport to Harry Reid International Airport.
2.  Delete the list of surplus land parcels and replace with the website link to DOA's real estate page for real time surplus land information.
3.  Provide flexibility on how County can group individual parcels to sell as individual sale units.

This item was presented to the County Long Range Planning Committee on February 23, 2022.
