BACKGROUND:

On December 19, 2017, the Board of County Commissioners (Board) approved the award of CBE No. 604682-17 to United States Geological Survey (NBE) in the amount of $1,067,655.55 to provide information about desert tortoise predator and prey dynamics, habitat use, and health that are relevant to an ecologically based program directed toward the successful management of the Boulder City Conservation Easement (BCCE) as a sustainable habitat reserve. Clark County purchased BCCE in 1995 from the City of Boulder City.

The following are the pertinent provisions of the Agreement:
The term of the Agreement was from January 1, 2018 through December 31, 2019 and included the                      option to renew for 1, two-year period. There are no renewal options remaining.
Included the County’s option to terminate for cause, convenience or default and suspend the Agreement                      with advanced written notice.

Amendment No. 1 replaced Appendix 1 - Milestone/Deliverable/Invoicing Schedule Table Year 4.

Amendment No. 2 extended the Agreement term through March 31, 2022 and replaced Appendix 1 - Milestone/Deliverable/Invoicing Schedule Table Year 4 of revised Amendment No. 1.
