Additional Comments:

RTC will provide funding in the amount of $14,000,000 for all costs associated with this project.  Clark County is not obligated to pay any of the project costs.

 

BACKGROUND: 

The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) has approved and budgeted funding for the Intersection Improvements Program - Traffic Signals at Various Locations #206 and Sunset Road between- Hualapai Way and Clark County 215 Beltway project in RTC's Highway Improvement Acquisition Fund from Fuel Revenue Indexing for Fiscal Year 2022.

The attached Interlocal Contract No. 3017 allocates funds for construction of five new traffic signals at the intersections of Karen Avenue and Lamb Boulevard, Gilespie Street and Windmill Lane, Torrey Pines Drive and Russell Road, Cimarron Road and Warm Spring Road, and Quarterhorse Lane and Sunset Road.  Improvements at these intersections include installation of new traffic signal poles and, where available, with utilization of existing traffic signal poles, induction loop detectors, flashing yellow arrows, closed circuit television cameras, intelligent transportation system infrastructure; pavement widening for additional travel lanes at Warm Springs Road and Sunset Road traffic signal locations; pavement rehabilitation on Sunset Road between Hualapai Way and Clark County 215 Beltway; and other appurtenances necessary for all aforementioned locations to construct a complete and functional project.  The time of performance is effective to June 30, 2027, unless time extensions are granted.

This project is included on the adopted RTC Capital Improvement Plan.  RTC approved the interlocal contract at its meeting on April 14, 2022.

The District Attorney's Office has reviewed and approved the interlocal contract as to form.
