Additional Comments:

RTC will provide funding in the amount of $8,500,000 for all costs associated with this project.  Clark County ($7,310,000) and City of Las Vegas ($1,190,000) are not obligated to pay any of the project costs.

 

BACKGROUND: 

The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) has approved and budgeted funding for the Elkhorn Road between Tenaya Way and Jones Boulevard project in RTC's Highway Improvement Acquisition Fund for Fiscal Year 2022.  RTC intends to improve Elkhorn Road between Tenaya Way and Jones Boulevard within the jurisdictions of Clark County and City of Las Vegas (together "Member Entities").

Clark County will be the lead agency for this project.  Design is complete and the County is ready to adverise the project to begin construction.

The attached Interlocal Contract No. 3019 allocates funds for improvements to Elkhorn Road between Tenaya Way and Jones Boulevard to consist of two travel lanes in each direction, bike lanes, shoulders, sidewalk reconstruction, traffic signal upgrades, intelligent transportation system infrastructure, utility adjustments, cold planing, plantmix bituminous surface, Ultra-Thin Asphalt Concrete Surfacing, permanent striping and signing, drop inlet adjustments, and other appurtenances necessary to improve and construct a complete and functional project.  The time of performance is effective to June 30, 2027, unless time extensions are granted.

This project is included on the adopted RTC Capital Improvement Plan.  RTC approved the interlocal contract at its meeting on April 14, 2022.

The Member Entities are scheduled to approve the interlocal contract at their respective Board/Council meetings.

The District Attorney's Office has reviewed and approved the interlocal contract as to form.
