BACKGROUND:

Since 2011, the Clark County Department of Juvenile Justice Services (DJJS) has received grant funds from the State Juvenile Justice Programs Office through a process which differs from the normal grant application process as funding is made available without submitting an application.  The grant formally known as Specialized Foster Care Room and Board Medicaid Funding is now known as the Community Corrections Partnership Block Grant.  It will fund treatment and placement services for youth in alternative placement.

The attached award letter states that $1,722,776.28 has been allocated for DJJS.  As a requirement, DJJS will submit quarterly reports on the mandatory performance measures/outcomes in order to continue to receive this funding.

This item has been approved as to form by the District Attorney's Office.
