BACKGROUND:

On December 21, 2021, the Board of County Commissioners approved Interlocal Agreement No. 9519 with the Las Vegas Valley Water District (LVVWD) authorizing the replacement of a LVVWD-maintained water pipeline in conjunction with the County's "Las Vegas Boulevard between Tropicana Avenue and Flamingo Road (Phases E and F)" project (Public Works Bid No. 605978-21).

The attached Amendment No. 1 to Interlocal Agreement No. 9519 is necessary to increase the cost of the proposed waterline work from $13,816,934.00 to $16,258,573.74; and it authorizes the County to perform the construction and construction management of the water facilities so long as LVVWD pays for all costs and expenses associated with the construction management of the water facilities.

The water facilities installed under this agreement will remain the exclusive property of LVVWD and will become a part of the general water distribution system.  Upon completion of the project, the water facilities will be assigned to LVVWD for maintenance.

The District Attorney's Office has reviewed and approved the amended agreement as to form.
