BACKGROUND:
The claim is a result of a motor vehicle accident on October 14, 2021, whereby the Clark County driver failed to yield to the oncoming traffic and turned left in front of M. Humberto Duarte-Arreza's vehicle Mr. Duarte-Arreza's vehicle with a total property damage of $7,281.63 and total medical treatment is at $19,406.00.Through negotiations with legal counsel for the claimant, the claimant has agreed to accept $36,000.00 in settlement of the bodily injury claim to avoid any further costs and legal expenses of possible litigation in this case. If the settlement is approved, the County would also avoid costs and expenses of any future litigation.The proposed settlement has been reviewed and approved by the Civil Division of the District Attorney’s Office and the Clark County Liability Pool Committee members.
