BACKGROUND:
Bid No. 605933-21, for Karen Avenue Storm Drain Improvements - Maryland Parkway to Flamingo Wash was advertised on March 17, 2022 and opened on April 14, 2022. The Bid Amounts are as follows:

This Contract is for the construction of a storm drain system on Karen Avenue from Maryland Parkway to Mojave Road, then along Mojave Road from Karen Avenue to Vegas Valley Drive and east on Vegas Valley Drive to connect the Flamingo Wash to accommodate drainage in the corridor. The improvements include installing a storm drain system, removal and replacement of the roadway section on Karen Avenue, pavement replacement of the existing roadway on Karen Avenue, Mojave Road and Vegas Valley Drive, placement of Ultrathin Asphalt Concrete Surfacings (UTACS), installation of streetlights on the south side of Karen Avenue between Maryland Parkway and Eastern Avenue, as well as other construction improvements including removal and/or installation of curbs, gutters, sidewalks, replacing street lighting with LED luminaires, installation of school flashers, signage, retaining walls, pavement markings, waterline relocations, and other associated improvements.
The following are the pertinent provisions of the Contract:
• The Contractor shall complete the entire work within 365 calendar days from the date specified in the Notice to Proceed.
• Includes the standard termination for cause within 7 business days and termination for convenience language as in all public works efforts of this type.
The recommendation of award is in accordance with NRS 338.1385.5, a public body or its authorized representative shall award a contract to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder.
