BACKGROUND:

On April 5, 2022, the Board directed staff to draft an ordinance to amend the County Code to remove conditions that restrict minors from entering karaoke rooms in businesses that have a retail liquor license and add conditions that will allow minors in karaoke rooms in businesses that have retail liquor and restaurant licenses. This amendment allows minors to enter karaoke rooms in businesses that have a retail liquor license or a retail liquor and restaurant license subject to certain conditions.

The proposed ordinance was introduced by the Board of County Commissioners' meeting on May 17, 2022, and a public hearing was set for June 7, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. Staff recommends approval of the ordinance to amend Chapter 8.20 of the County Code.
