BACKGROUND:

The Regional Flood Control District (RFCD) approved funding for the Orchard Detention Basin project on its 1997, 2002, 2008, 2013, and 2018 Master Plan Updates.

The Board of County Commissioners previously approved fifteen supplements to the interlocal contract for various phases of this project, including, but not limited to, an increase of funds for design, right-of-way acquisition, environmental mitigation, an emergency action plan, re-design of the levee to extend it north of Charleston Boulevard, adding a line item for entity design labor costs, and extending the contract term.

The attached Supplemental No. 16 to the interlocal contract increases total funds to include, but not limited to, design and right-of-way acquisition including appraisals, title and escrow, negotiations, legal and recording fees, for the subject project.

This project is identified on RFCD's Ten-Year Construction Program.  RFCD approved the supplemental contract at its meeting on May 19, 2022.

The District Attorney's Office has reviewed and approved the sixteenth supplemental contract as to form.
