BACKGROUND:

On December 21, 2021, the Board of County Commissioners approved a pre-qualification list to be used to select professional service providers for the period of January 1, 2022 through December 31, 2023.  CA Group, Inc. (Corporation) was selected from the pre-qualification list category, [Services] Hydraulic/Hydrology (Detention/ Retention and Storm Drain Conveyance), to provide engineering services for Hiko Springs Detention Basin Expansion project.

County staff negotiated the attached professional engineering services contract with CA Group, Inc.  The contract describes the services to be provided and the stipulated terms.  The time of performance is effective to December 31, 2023, unless time extensions are granted.  The engineering services consist of a pre-design report of the Hiko Springs Detention Basin Expansion.  The report will include an alternative analysis of the four proposed Master Planned facilities in the area, along with a recommendations for which alternative should be considered for final design.

CA Group, Inc. currently holds a Clark County Business License.

Pursuant to the Nevada Revised Statute 332.115(1)(b), contracts for professional services are not adapted to award by competitive bidding and, therefore, are exempt from the bidding requirements.

The District Attorney’s Office has reviewed and approved the contract as to form.
