BACKGROUND:

On December 21, 2021, the Board of County Commissioners approved a pre-qualification list to be used to select professional services providers for the period of January 1, 2022 through December 31, 2023.  Atkins North America, Inc. (Corporation) was selected from the pre-qualification list category, [Services] Engineering: Hydraulic/Hydrology (Detention/Retention and Storm Drain Conveyance), to provide engineering services for the design of the Flamingo Wash, Cimarron Branch between Russell Road and Patrick Lane project.

County staff negotiated the attached professional engineering services contract with Atkins North America, Inc.  The contract describes the services to be provided and stipulated terms.  The time of performance is effective to December 31, 2025, unless time extensions are granted.  The project improvements to be designed include closed conduit storm drains, concrete channels, culverts, drop inlets, utility modifications, utility relocations, and related appurtenances necessary to control floodwaters in the area of the project.

Atkins North America, Inc. currently holds a Clark County Business License.

Pursuant to the Nevada Revised Statute 332.115(1)(b), contracts for professional services are not adapted to award by competitive bidding and, therefore, are exempt from the bidding requirements.

The District Attorney’s Office has reviewed and approved the contract as to form.
