BACKGROUND:

The Fiscal Year 2022-2023 HUD Annual Action Plan describes the funding allocations for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), the HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME), the Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG), and the Nevada Account for Affordable Housing Trust Fund (AAHTF). Total Federal funding represented in the plan is $13,352,479. The total funding in the plan including funding from the State of Nevada (State HOME and AAHTF) is $18,159,131. Prior to its submittal to HUD by August 3, 2022, the Action Plan has been revised to accept public comments that were received at public meetings and hearings, and technical corrections were made for accuracy. One public comment was received regarding homelessness addressing the need for resources for the mentally ill and additional affordable housing.

The Board of County Commissioners previously held a public hearing concerning the Action Plan on July 19, 2022, to receive input from the public on the content and strategies outlined for the one-year period.  The plan was widely available for public comment from June 1st through July 1st, 2022, per HUD guidelines.
