BACKGROUND:

The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) has approved Interlocal Contract No. 3043 and budgeted funding for the Hollywood Boulevard between Lake Mead Boulevard and Cheyenne Avenue project in RTC's Highway Improvement Acquisition Fund for Fiscal Year 2023.  The design is 90 percent complete and all necessary rights-of-way have been obtained for this project.

The attached Interlocal Contract No. 3043 allocates funds for improvements to Hollywood Boulevard between Lake Mead Boulevard and Cheyenne Avenue, consisting of pavement widening and/or narrowing, full-depth roadway reconstruction, mill and overlay, new curb and gutter, median islands, attached/detached concrete sidewalks, landscaped areas, roadside grading, Americans with Disabilities Act improvements, storm drain systems, traffic signal modifications and undergrounds, school flasher, striping, signing, and buffered bike lanes, proposed driveway and side street improvements including curb returns, transitions to existing pavement, and connections to existing local storm drain facilities, and other appurtenances necessary to construct a complete and functional project.  Side streets that will be impacted as part of this project include:  Lake Mead Boulevard, Solaron Avenue, Fallona Avenue, Tiffollo Lane, Carey Avenue, Walnut Canyon Drive, Merced Lake Drive, Converse Drive, Sprinkle Avenue, Alto Avenue, Mt Aire Way, Jordan River Drive, and Cheyenne Avenue.  The time of performance is effective to December 31, 2027, unless time extensions are granted.

RTC approved the interlocal contract at its meeting on July 14, 2022.

The District Attorney's Office has reviewed and approved the interlocal contract as to form.
