BACKGROUND:

The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) has approved Interlocal Contract No. 3044 and budgeted funding for the Mountains Edge Rush Channel Pedestrian Bridge project in RTC's Highway Improvement Fund for Fiscal Year 2023.  The design is 90 percent complete and all necessary rights-of-way have been obtained for this project.

The attached Interlocal Contract No. 3044 allocates funds for construction of a pedestrian bridge over the existing Rush Channel, which runs east-west through Mountains Edge Association.  The pedestrian bridge will connect the north end and the sound end of the Tenaya Paseo Trail that runs perpendicular to the Rush Channel.  The project improvements include a new prefabricated truss bridge with abutments, the realignments of the concrete trail, realignment of the existing sanitary sewer, concrete valley gutters, and maintenance road/paths along with relocation of the trail light poles; plus reconstructing the fencing to provide security and safety with gates and no trespassing signs, restoring disturbed landscaping rock cover and plants near the trail construction, and other appurtenances necessary to construct a complete and functional project.  The time of performance is effective to December 31, 2027, unless time extensions are granted.

RTC approved the interlocal contract at its meeting on July 14, 2022.

The District Attorney's Office has reviewed and approved the interlocal contract as to form.
